Description

The apartment is also rented for 1 person, up to a maximum of 4 people including children for a minimum stay of 3 days.

Costs per night from 100 to 150 euro/day depending on seasons and number of people.  Discounts for long period. Please enquiry through Contact.

Spoleto apartment is located in the center of the old town, in the oldest street, very close to the cathedral, theaters, and most of the places to see. It is on the second Upstairs / (no elevator) with a terrace overlooking the fortress, St. Peter and Monteluco.

Two large bedrooms, well appointed in all the details, a large living room with fireplace, a well equipped kitchen with fireplace, and 1 large bathroom with tub and shower. The house is very comfortable. A spiral staircase leads to a library-lounge and a terrace overlooking the old town to enjoy a good glass of wine or a quick barbecue.

The library has a comfortable single bed, but it could be cold in winter and hot in summer. There is also a utility room with washing machine, space for drying clothes and ironing board in a separate room just outside the apartment. There is no need for a car in the town, but just to enjoy the surroundings.

Spoleto is Eco-friendly and has Selected garbage collection door to door (instructions will be given at arrival).

Amenities

Rules

– Maximum occupancy 4 people including infants.
– Parties and an extra person not included in the booking are not allowed.
– No minor unaccompanied by parents. Minor only accompanied by an adult with parents’ authorization and document.
– No smoking
– No parties allowed
– Compulsory Police declaration: Need to get personal information before your arrival (passport,        nationality, date of birth place of birth, etc.)
– Check-in: Normal timing is from 14 pm to 17 pm and from 8 pm to 9 pm unless agreed in advance.
   Late check-in: from 21 pm to 24 pm. a charge of 20 euros, to be paid in cash at arrival.
   Early check-in: from 8 am to 14 pm. a charge of 20 euros, to be paid in cash at arrival.
   Different timing needs to be agreed upon at confirmation and well before arrival.
– Check out: within 10 am unless previous arrangements at booking.
   IMPORTANT:  I need approx 45 minutes to reach the apartment.
– The apt is on the 2nd floor with no lift so I am very sorry but not fit for wheelchairs.
– I love animals but due to many people being allergic to hair animals, I am not able to host guests with animals.
– LGBT friendly, all are welcome.
– Heating is ruled by the local authorities in terms of timing and degree allowance. In 2022, Heating is allowed from October 22 to April 7th with a maximum of 19 degrees C (66,2F).
– Selected garbage is required as per instructions given at arrival. We love the environment!
– The apartment should be left in the same conditions as when you arrived. (no dirty dishes in the sink and no garbage in the apartment).
– No noise after 10pm

by car:

From South (Rome) (Km 160):

Motorway A1 Autostrada del Sole – exit Orte –E45 — exit Spoleto South (IP petrol station)

From North (Perugia) (Km 65):

Route SS75 direction Assisi —  exit Spoleto South (IP petrol station)

Specific indication to reach the apartment will be given separately. The apartment is at 100 meters from Porta di Monterone.

 

by train:

Look at Trenitalia to see timings, costs and trains.

Approximately timing from Rome is 1,5 hrs, from Florence is from 3 to 4,30 hrs with 1 change.

Mobility

Parking in Spoleto:

The historical center is all Zone Restricted Traffic (ZTL), cars are NOT permitted inside town neither to circulate nor to park.

See map mobility.  The apartment is close to Piazza della Libertà.

 

To visit the main tourist sites, we recommend the use of the parking lots of the alternative transportation system connected to the center by escalators and moving walkways and elevators.

Parking on surfaces slots (blue lines) may vary from 1 to 2.50 euros per hour, depending on the zone. Few free surface slots are available (white lines)

 

1 Parking: SPOLETOSFERA (only cars; external caravan park with an entrance on Via dei Cappuccini)   Close to the apartment

2 Parking: Ponzianina (for cars, campers and buses)

3 Parking: Posterna (cars only)

 

Daily rates for parking cars in SPOLETOSFERA and Posterna:

free for the first 30 minutes

first hour € 1.20, from 2 to 7 hours 1 euro up to a daily maximum of 8 euro

Free after 9pm up to 01am

Alternative Mobility in Spoleto There are many alternative way to move in Spoleto with lift, tapis roulant from the upper part to the lowe part of Spoleto.

Just few hints:

Food

Wherever you go you have good food.  You will find my favourite restaurants looking at Antonia’s top ten

Among my favorite restaurants there are La Torretta, I Pini (lower Spoleto), Apollinare, there is a new entry LA BARCACCIA in Piazza Fratelli Bandiera 5 (close to Piazza del Mercato) phone: +39 0743225082, where you can eat the best strangozzi. Tell the owner you are a Deodato’s friend and you will be reated as a special guest.

Trip Advisor suggestions: I never tried Tempio del Gusto but I will soon, for the rest I am aligned to their suggestions.

Shopping

Open Market places:

Every Friday there is a market in Via cacciatore delle Alpi, at 5 minutes walking from the apartment via the escalator from the cathedral.

 

On September 7 and 8 of each year there is a big market along all town.

 

​Super Market-Food:

A variety of good supermar​kets​ in Spoleto.

IL DUCATO COOP, the biggest, located in the lower part of town. Good choice of fish that arrives daily from the Adriatic.  It also have a very good choice of wine from all Italian region as well as other countries (France, etc).

EUROSPIN discount more than 1 with good variety at cheap prices.

Local SM in piazza del Mercato, Sabatini on the top right corner. They also deliver your shopping at home.​

Familiar Small SM close to the apartment, going up on Via Monterone, a familiar small SM, with all you need at walking distance. Open from 10am to 1pm and to 5pm to 7pm.
The specialty in Spoleto are: strangozzi (a fresh pasta), black truffles, wine and all sort of salame, ham, mortadella, sausages and local cheese etc.)

Communication

High speed Wifi 24 hrs is avaialble in the apartment. Name and password will be provided at arrival.
